Engineered Nanofibers™
GreenSpinning™

1. Who is NanoStatics?

A new company formed last recently from a long history of electrostatic and electrospinning technology development. The owners discovered a method for greatly increasing the throughput of electrospinning to lower the cost of making nanofibers and enable applications beyond small commercial and laboratory uses.

2. What does NanoStatics do?

We develop electrospinning technology and systems. In technology, we are focusing on producing nanofibers using environmentally friendly (or solventless) chemistry and the development of nanofibers that have performance properties engineered for specific applications, along with continuing to drive up the throughput capability of our equipment. We call all of this “Green Spinning” , “Engineered NanoFibers” and “High Throughput NanoFibers”. In systems we build and sell electrospinning equipment. We also have pilot plant capability to make prototypes and samples and to do very limited manufacturing.

3. What is our business model?

We design, build and sell electrospinning equipment from the spinning modules alone to entire integrated media handling systems.

  • We provide product development help for customers that includes developing nanofiber chemistry, making samples, and making prototypes
  • We provide complete turnkey systems when desired – the electrospinning equipment and nanofiber technology combined into a successful product. We have limited ability to manufacture on our pilot equipment but may serve as a resource to get product to a customer.
  • Our focus is on environmentally friendly systems

    4. How high is high throughput?
  • We believe our technology has 200 times the throughput capability than any competing system.

    5. What markets and applications are you look
    ing at?
  • We believe that our technology enables nanofiber use into many applications not currently considered because of low throughput, the use of solvents and the high cost of nanofiber production. These applications include non-wovens, paper, packaging, biopharmaceutical, textiles, medical, construction, printing, and composites.

    6. What are the scale limitations of your equipment?
  • our technology is easily scalable. It starts with a 1 ft2 module that can be stacked across the direction of the production path to achieve the width required. These module can also be stacked in the direction of production path to achieve the speed requirements or deposition rate requirements. WE are comfortable with widths exceeding 100 inches wide

    7. How much does the equipment cost?
  • We can’t answer that until we fully understand the application and have a sense for what configuration and chemistry needs to be used. We believe that our electrospinning technology will give huge economic benefits to the users.

    8. Is it difficult to use?
  • No. It requires some formulation expertise and knowledge of the control systems. The equipment is very easy to use and control. s
